Person or group of people that has its own functions with responsibilities, authorities and relationships to achieve its objectives.
Note 1 to entry: The concept of organization includes, but is not limited to sole-trader, company, corporation, firm,enterprise, authorit y, partnership, charit y or instit ution, or part or combination thereof, whether incorporated or not, public or private.
Note 2 to entry: An organization or part of an organization that manages and delivers a service or services to internal or external customers can be known as a service provider.
Note 3 to entry: If the scope of the SMS covers only part of an organization, then organization, when used in this document, refers to the part of the organization that is within the scope of the SMS. Any use of the term organization with a different intent is distinguished clearly.
Note 4 to entry: The original Annex SL def inition has been modif ied by adding Notes 2 and 3 to entry.
